Railroads Online by publisher astragon Entertainment and developer Stefan Kelnberger will be available on December 05 for PC, PlayStation®5 und Xbox Series X|S. Players can then create the railroad network of their dreams alone or in a multiplayer session in four different game worlds, which the new trailer presents today.
In Railroads Online, you are invited to develop your very own railroads by exploring fascinating sandbox open worlds. As a railway pioneer, your goal is to connect industrial chains with rail networks, transporting goods and raw materials across diverse terrains. The unique topography and allocation of industries of each environment require careful planning, both in construction and navigation and are showcased in detail in today’s trailer:
- Pine Valley embodies the vast and untamed beauty of the North American wilderness during the early railway era. Its lush forests, towering mountains, and deep canyons create a diverse and challenging landscape for aspiring railroad builders.
- Lake Valley is also inspired by North American scenery, features iconic mountain ranges and a sprawling lake at the heart of the map. This central landmark plays a significant role in shaping your railway network.
- Aurora Falls offers a breathtaking winter wonderland. Snow-capped peaks, crystal-clear mountain lakes, and dense coniferous forests define this frosty environment, complete with the magical glow of the aurora borealis.
A brand-new map has been presented in the new trailer: Mesa Plains delivers a fresh, arid desert setting where players travel through vast desert plains, narrow canyons and along a stunning shoreline. A major highlight of this map is the unique integration of pre-placed tunnels and a pier for unloading goods. Mesa Plains will launch alongside the full PC version on Steam, with console players receiving the map in a future patch.
Railroads Online will be released digitally on December 05, for PlayStation®5, and Xbox Series X|S at a price of 39.99€ / $39.99 USD (SRP) or a regional equivalent. The game is available for PC as full version at a price of 34.99€ / $34.99 USD (SRP). The Pioneer DLC will be available separately for all platforms for 2.99€ / 2.99$ (SRP). Players who own the Steam Early Access version of the game will receive the Pioneer DLC for free.
On February 27, 2025, Railroads Online – Pioneer Edition for PlayStation®5 will be released in retail in selected countries. The retail exclusive Pioneer Edition contains the base game as well as the Pioneer DLC and will cost 39,99$ / 39,99€ (SRP).

In October 2021, developer Stefan Kelnberger released Railroads Online in Early Access on Steam. A year later, astragon Entertainment joined the project as the publisher.
In Railroads Online, players create the railroad network of their dreams in their own personal sandbox or in a multiplayer with up to 16 players. In a large open game world, rails, switches, and stations must be built to transport different goods in authentic locomotives. The game uses the advanced physics systems of the Unreal Engine to create the most authentic railroad simulation possible, rendering collisions and forces dynamically in real time for maximum immersion.
